What It Is

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is the daytime seasonal takeover that runs across both parks and Downtown Disney from August 21 through October 31, 2026. The season overlays regular park operations with holiday decor, themed attraction overlays including Haunted Mansion Holiday and Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After Dark, Plaza de la Familia's Day of the Dead celebration, Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit character stops, and seasonal food across both parks.

Why Go

Halloween Time delivers seasonal ambience without the separate-ticket price of Oogie Boogie Bash. Haunted Mansion Holiday reopens with its Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. The Main Street pumpkin is back. Plaza de la Familia at Frontierland is one of the Resort's most thoughtful cultural additions. If you already have park tickets, most of Halloween's public-facing charm is included in regular admission.

What to Know Before You Go

Dates: August 21 through October 31, 2026. Included with park admission: Decor, attraction overlays, Plaza de la Familia programming, and seasonal food and beverage. Not included: Oogie Boogie Bash after-hours party (separate ticket). Peak crowds: The last two weekends before Halloween and California school breaks. Weekday visits during the first month of Halloween Time see the lightest crowds. Reservations: Park reservations may be required depending on the day and ticket type. Confirm on the official Disneyland site before your visit.

The Honest Take

You do not need the Oogie Boogie ticket to enjoy Halloween Time. Most of what makes the season memorable is baked into a regular park day. The trade-off is crowd density and the fact that the party-only entertainment stays party-only. If you want the atmosphere without the premium, aim for a mid-week visit in September before Southern California schools sync into Halloween mode.
