Your Rights Under California Law

California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

This page explains your rights and how to exercise them.

What Is Considered "Sale" or "Sharing"?

Under California law:

Sale means selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating your personal information to another business in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration.
Sharing (CPRA) includes allowing third parties to use your personal information for their own business purposes, including targeted advertising.

Venture: Orange County does not actively sell personal information for payment. However, we may share limited information with third-party service providers (analytics platforms, email providers, advertising networks) to operate the site and improve marketing. If this constitutes "sharing" under California law, you have the right to opt out.

How to Opt Out

Method 1: Cookie Preferences

Click the Manage Preferences button in the cookie banner (appears when you first visit the site), then select your preferences for third-party cookies and targeted advertising.

This link opens the Cookiebot preferences modal, where you can accept or reject non-essential cookies, including marketing and analytics cookies.

Method 3: Email Request

Email us at privacy@ventureoc.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" and include:

Your name.
Email address.
Specific request (opt out of sales, opt out of sharing, or both).

We will confirm receipt promptly and implement your preference within 15 business days, as required by CCPA/CPRA.

Method 4: Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or device has GPC enabled, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information.

What Happens When You Opt Out

When you opt out:

We will stop sharing your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
We will continue to use your information to operate the site and provide requested services.
We will not re-sell or re-share your information for the duration of your opt-out.

Your Other California Privacy Rights

In addition to opting out of sales and sharing, you also have the right to:

Know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
Delete your personal information (with exceptions).
Correct inaccurate information.
Limit our use of sensitive personal information.
Portability: Receive your information in a portable format.

Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature. While we respect your privacy, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal (see above).

Verification

When you submit a request to opt out, we may ask you to verify your identity by providing:

Your email address.
Any other identifying information.

This helps us protect your privacy and prevent fraudulent requests.

Non-Discrimination

California law prohibits discrimination based on your exercise of privacy rights. We will not:

Deny you goods or services.
Charge you different prices or rates.
Provide you with different quality of service.
Suggest that exercising your rights has negative consequences.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this page to reflect changes in our practices or California law. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
