1. Information We Collect

Venture: Orange County collects information to operate the site, deliver our newsletter, respond to inquiries, and improve user experience.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Newsletter signup: Email address, and optionally your first name and zip code.
  • Contact forms or lead inquiries: Name, email, message content, and any attachments.
  • Feedback or corrections submission: Your name, email, content details, and message.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and device identifiers.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, time spent, scroll depth, clicks, referral source, and navigation patterns.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: See our Cookie Policy for details.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic and user behavior. Google may set cookies and collect data subject to Google's privacy policy.

1.3 Sensitive Personal Information

We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information (race, ethnicity, religion, union membership, mental or physical health, sexual orientation, immigration status, precise geolocation (location within a radius of 1,850 feet), government IDs, financial account login information, biometric data, or genetic data). Please do not submit this information through our general website forms.

1.4 Categories of Personal Information We Collect at a Glance

The following summarizes the categories of personal information we collect, the specific data within each category, and the purposes for which we collect it. This satisfies the Notice at Collection requirements of California Civil Code §1798.100(b).

  • Identifiers: Name, email, IP address, browser and device identifiers. Purpose: Newsletter delivery; respond to inquiries; fraud prevention; site security.
  • Commercial Information: Lead inquiry content, contact-form messages, attachments. Purpose: Respond to your inquiry; transaction-related follow-up by Real Broker (with your consent).
  • Internet/Network Activity: Pages visited, referral source, scroll depth, session duration, clicks, navigation patterns. Purpose: Site analytics; content improvement; debugging.
  • Geolocation (approximate): City or region inferred from IP address only. Purpose: Aggregated traffic analytics, no precise location tracking.
  • Inferences: Topical interests inferred from browsing behavior. Purpose: Improve content relevance.

We do not collect "Sensitive Personal Information" as defined by California Civil Code §1798.140(ae) (including precise geolocation (location within a radius of 1,850 feet), government IDs, financial account credentials, biometric or genetic data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, union membership, sexual orientation, or health information). Do not submit this information through our general site forms.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Newsletter: To send editorial updates, local guides, real-estate content, and occasional sponsored content. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email.
  • Lead inquiries: To respond to your question or request. We may share your information with Real Broker for transaction-related follow-up, or use it to send related real estate information (subject to your consent preferences).
  • Site improvement: To understand how visitors use the site, diagnose technical issues, and improve content and user experience.
  • Legal compliance: To comply with laws, regulations, and legal requests.
  • Corrections: To review and respond to reported errors or concerns.

Submissions and correspondence you send us may be processed with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools under operator supervision.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may "share" personal information as defined by the California Privacy Rights Act if you consent to analytics or advertising cookies that support cross-context behavioral advertising. You may opt out at any time using our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the site footer or by sending a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser. We share data with third-party service providers (email platforms, analytics tools, hosting providers) under data-processing agreements that require them to protect your information.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To submit a request, email contact@ventureoc.com with your name, email, and specific request. We will verify your identity before responding. Requests will be addressed within 30 to 45 days (or as required by law).

Categories of Personal Information Disclosed

In the prior 12 months, we have disclosed the following categories to service providers and analytics partners:

  • Identifiers: Name, email address, IP address, browser identifiers.
  • Internet/Network Activity: Pages visited, referral source, usage patterns, timestamps.
  • Inferences: User interests based on browsing behavior.

California "Shine the Light" Disclosure

California Civil Code §1798.83 ("Shine the Light") allows California residents who provide personal information for personal, family, or household purposes to request, once per calendar year, information about our disclosures of certain categories of personal information to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes.

Venture: Orange County does not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. To make a Shine the Light request, email contact@ventureoc.com with the subject line "Request for California Privacy Information." We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

Venture: Orange County is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be announced on the site. Your continued use of the site after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance.

10. Data Retention

  • Newsletter subscribers: Retained while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, our email provider (Beehiiv) keeps a suppression record so we do not email you again.
  • Any correspondence you send us: Retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond and address related follow-up.
  • Server access logs and analytics: Retention is governed by our hosting and analytics providers' default settings (for Google Analytics, typically up to 14 months).
  • CCPA/CPRA verification records: Kept only as long as needed to verify and process your request, then deleted.

11. Phone and SMS Communications

Venture: Orange County does not collect phone numbers on this Site and does not send marketing calls, pre-recorded voice messages, or SMS/MMS from this Site. Any real estate telephone or text communications with Ethan Hauptli (CA DRE #02191280) or Real Broker (CA DRE #02022092) occur through separate real estate business channels operating under their own privacy and TCPA-compliant consent practices, independent of this Site.

If you received a call, voicemail, or text you believe is associated with Venture: Orange County in error, email contact@ventureoc.com and we will investigate.

12. DMCA

We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512). To submit a notice of claimed copyright infringement or a counter-notice, please follow the procedures and use the contact information on our DMCA Notice & Designated Agent page.

13. International Visitors

Venture: Orange County is hosted in the United States and intended for California residents. If you are outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the site, you consent to this transfer and processing under U.S. law.
