Truly Pizza's Laguna Beach location sits next door to Urth Caffe on the main Coast Highway stretch through downtown, the second outpost of the Dana Point flagship that built its name on long-fermented dough and ingredient-forward toppings. The Dana Point original (opened 2023) has been one of the more defensible pizza spots in South OC: long-fermented dough, California sourcing, an exhibition kitchen wrapped around the oven. The pedigree is not marketing. Truly placed fourth on 50 Top Pizza USA 2026, and its Umami Mushroom pie took Pizza of the Year. The Laguna expansion brings the same core pizza-and-salad program to a coastal setting, plus a full bar with an aperitivo list, cocktails, and amari.
The patio is the draw. About 100 seats put you on the Coast Highway stretch with shoreline light doing most of the work. Indoors is smaller and gets loud at peak times. The crowd skews toward dinner groups. Not a scene bar, just a dinner spot with a patio built for lingering.

Our Cheese ($19): California red sauce, fresh and whole milk mozzarella, basil, grated Romano. The house reference if you want the baseline.
Sweet & Spicy ($28): hot soppressata, stracciatella, and Mike's hot honey over fresh and whole milk mozzarella. The pizza that pulls repeat customers.
Smoky Vodka ($28): vodka sauce, provola, roasted tomatoes, stracciatella, pistachio lemon pesto. A dollar from every one sold goes to the Laguna Beach Police & Community Foundation K9 unit.
House Salad ($15) or The Dana Point Wedge ($18): the salad section is small and tight. Order one to split with the table.
Soft Serve ($8): rotating flavors, one topping included. A natural finish.
Cocktails, beer, wine and zero-proof: Laguna runs a full bar. Aperitivo and cocktail lists, Italian and California wine, beer, bubbles, ciders, and a real zero-proof section rather than an afterthought.

Getting a table is the first hurdle. Reservations open 30 days out and go quickly, and diners regularly complain that booking is the hardest part of eating here. Parking in downtown Laguna is the second. Street meters fill fast and the public lots are the more reliable fallback. The food should feel familiar to Dana Point regulars: long-fermented pies, salads, sandwiches, soft serve. The beverage program is the clearest reason to pick Laguna over the flagship if you want a cocktail with your pizza. Two more things to plan around: there is no takeout here yet, so this is a sit-down commitment, and a 20% gratuity is added to parties of eight or more.
