Truly Pizza

The Dana Point favorite lands across from the Laguna Art Museum — long-fermented pies, a 100-seat coastal patio, and Truly's first cocktail program.

Truly Pizza's Laguna Beach location sits next door to Urth Caffe, directly across from the Laguna Art Museum — the second outpost of the Dana Point flagship that built its name on long-fermented dough and ingredient-forward toppings. A spacious indoor room, a patio built for around a hundred, and the first full bar and cocktail program in Truly's history. Soft-open service started in April; grand opening was May 7, 2026.

The Story

The Dana Point original (opened 2023) has been one of the more defensible pizza spots in South OC — long-fermented dough, California sourcing, a wood oven that's visible from the dining room. The Laguna expansion brings the same core pizza-and-salad program to a coastal setting, plus a Laguna-specific full liquor license and cocktail program (a first for the brand). The building sits on the main Coast Highway stretch where the Urth patio becomes a social scene in summer evenings.

The Atmosphere: Coastal Casual

The patio is the draw. About a hundred seats put you right on the Coast Highway / museum-side stretch, with shoreline light doing most of the work. Indoors is smaller and gets a bit loud at peak times. The crowd skews toward dinner groups and couples — not a scene bar, just a dinner spot with a patio built for lingering.

What to Order

Our Cheese—the classic California red sauce pie with fresh and whole milk mozzarella. The house reference if it's your first visit.

Skinny Margherita—a separate, lighter option from Our Cheese. Worth a side-by-side if you're with a group.

Sweet & Spicy—whole milk mozzarella, soppressata, stracciatella, and Mike's hot honey. The pizza that pulls repeat customers.

House Salad or Dana Point Wedge—the salad section is small and tight. Order one to split with the table.

Soft Serve—a Truly signature. A natural finish if it's on the current rotation.

Cocktails, Beer, Wine & Zero-Proof—Laguna adds Truly's first full bar and cocktail program, alongside wine, beer, bubbles, ciders, craft sodas, and zero-proof options.

Planning Your Visit

Location: 320 N Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651 (next to Urth Caffe, across from the Laguna Art Museum) · Hours: Mon, Wed, Thu & Sun 11am–8pm; Fri–Sat 11am–9pm; closed Tuesdays — verify on trulypizza.com while the location is still new · Reservations: Recommended via OpenTable for parties of 1–6; larger parties should contact the restaurant directly · Takeout: Currently dine-in only at the Laguna location · Parking: Street meters on Coast Highway plus nearby downtown public lots; expect to walk · Best time: Weekday early dinner before 6pm; weekend sunset patio if you can reserve it

The Honest Take

The Laguna location is still new, so hours, reservation availability, and service rhythm may continue to settle in during the first few months. Parking in downtown Laguna is the real friction point — street meters fill quickly, and the public lots are the more reliable fallback. The food should feel familiar to Dana Point regulars (long-fermented pies, salads, sandwiches, soft serve). The beverage program is one of Laguna's differences from Dana Point: cocktails, wine, beer, bubbles, ciders, and zero-proof options in a fuller bar setup.
