What It Is

The Cruise of Lights is a narrated boat tour past the holiday-decorated waterfront homes of Huntington Harbour, presented by the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee. The 64th edition runs December 19 to 23, 2026, with departures at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. each night. Each tour runs about 50 minutes. The cruise is a fundraiser for the Philharmonic Society of Orange County's youth music education programs.

Why Go

The boat parade brings the boats to you; the cruise takes you past the houses. You get a seat, a narrator, and the harbor's decorated homes from the water, with no fight for beach space. It also runs right up to December 23, the week after Huntington Harbour's own parade, which makes it one of the latest holiday-lights outings on the OC calendar.

What To Know Before You Go

Dates: December 19 to 23, 2026. Departures: 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. nightly. Parking and boarding: park free in the rear lot of Huntington Harbour Mall, 16889 Algonquin St, then take the shuttle to the dock at Huntington Harbour Yacht Club, 3821 Warner Ave. Arrive at least 15 minutes early for the shuttle. Accessibility: guests with a valid, displayed California disabled placard can drive directly to the yacht club; power chairs are not allowed aboard. Tickets: sold online through the official cruise page. 2026 prices were not posted on the pages we checked; 2025 tickets were $26 for adults and $19 for ages 2 to 12, with children under 2 free, per Surf City USA. Pro tip: book an early night in the run (December 19 or 20) to stay clear of the final pre-Christmas crunch.

The Honest Take

This is a 50-minute look at decorated houses from a boat, and whether that is worth the ticket depends on how much you enjoy holiday lights done at full residential scale. With the shuttle, plan on roughly an hour and a half door to door. The fundraising angle is real: the money goes to youth music education, which makes the ticket easier to justify. Dress warm; evenings on the harbor in late December are cold.
