Organic-focused café and in-house roastery on West Chapman.
The Lost Bean built its West Chapman location around a single premise: the coffee should be organic, roasted in-house, and served in a room that welcomes you to actually stay. That's not a marketing frame — the Orange location is officially branded as their "Orange Roastery," and the fluid-bed roaster is on-site.
The company operates multiple cafés and roasts on a specialized fluid-bed roaster. The West Chapman shop is the flagship for that roasting operation, with retail beans, brewing equipment, and a full café program all under one roof.
Good natural light, real table space, no pressure to turn over. The design favors people who want to sit down and get something done. Espresso pulls consistently, which matters more than most places will admit.
Organic Pour-Over—ask what's freshly roasted. Rotating single-origin lots showcase the roastery.
Cappuccino—the baseline. If the espresso program is dialed in, you'll know here.
Take-Home Beans—worth a bag on the way out; check the label for the certification language.
Location: 814 W. Chapman Ave., Orange · Hours: Daily 7:00 AM–8:00 PM (verify current hours) · Also at: Irvine · Note: "Organic" is on the label; the specific certifier is not published on the official site — check a bag if certification tier matters to you
Not the flashiest coffee bar in the city, and that's exactly the appeal. Consistent pulls, in-house roasting, a room that lets you actually work. Bring a laptop, order a pour-over, stay a while.
